Coach Zee’s Philosophy

I coach to develop individual players who contribute to their team: strong in the mind, smart in their decisions, skilled with the ball, and confident in the box.

Through key frameworks and whole-player care, I guide young athletes toward growing courage, a love for learning, improving technical skills, and becoming leaders…all while having fun doing it.

My goal is not just to assist your child in becoming a better soccer and futsal player, but to become a resilient, respectful, heart-centered human who believes in themselves and each other.

  • “Coach Nikki helped our child grow so much, especially emotionally. She gave him tools he could use when he got overwhelmed, and questions he could ask himself when he got in his head. He started making better decisions on his own. We were grateful for a coach who understood her role wasn't just to help him learn soccer and shout orders from the sidelines."

  • “Finally someone who believes in training keepers! Season after season, keeper training was always an afterthought. To see the difference in how our son approached goalkeeping after working with Coach Nikki was night and day."

  • "What impressed us most was how different of a coach she was to those we'd had in the past. She made an effort to know the kids and the parents. She has been the only coach to tap into my son's unique needs. I knew she'd made a difference when he kept asking when she could be his coach again."

  • "Coach Zee helped our child understand the game, not just play it! He didn't start out as the most skilled player on the team and lacked the confidence others had. By the end of the season, he was no longer nervous to play in games, he was looking forward to it. So grateful!"

The Top 5 Things I Look For In Players

  1. Coachability – I look for players who are willing to listen, try again, and apply feedback, even when it’s hard. Coachable players don’t need to be perfect; they need to be open to learning and growth.

  2. Mindset Under Pressure – I look for how a player responds when things don’t go their way. Effort after mistakes, resilience during tough moments, and the ability to flip from Fear Mode to Fire Mode matter more than any single play.

  3. Willingness to Compete – I look for brave players. Those who step into challenges, who don’t shy away from contact, and who keep working even when the game gets physical or uncomfortable. Competing with courage is a skill.

  4. Growth Over Time – More than where a player starts, I look for improvement across the season. Effort, consistency, and small wins add up. Players who grow are the ones laying the foundation for long-term success.

  5. Wants to be There – I value players who genuinely want to be at practice and at games. Those who are engaged, curious, and invested in the team. Players who “want to be there” naturally connect with teammates, stay switched on, and develop soccer IQ faster because they care about the why, not just the how.
